A 16-year-old has been reprimanded after he was caught aiming a laser at the pilot of a police helicopter.

The chopper had been responding to reports of a cable theft on the evening of February 23, when a green laser beam was shone at the pilot as he flew between junction three and four of the M6, near Chelmsley Wood.

Three men were initially arrested and held in police custody the following day but two were released without charge. Officers confirmed the helicopter pilot was uninjured.
