£5,000 reward to catch Hollywood robbers

A reward of up to £5,000 has been offered by Crimestoppers as police continue to hunt for a man who robbed an elderly couple at their home in Hollywood, near Birmingham.

A REWARD of up to £5,000 has been offered by Crimestoppers as police continue to hunt for a man who robbed an elderly couple at their home in Hollywood, near Solihull.

The reward is for information provided directly to Crimestoppers which leads to the arrest and conviction of anyone involved in the robbery on Monday, August 23.

A man forced his way into the couple’s home in Truemans Heath Lane at about 10pm and threatened them before taking a laptop, two mobile phones, a purse and some cash. The pensioners were treated for shock but did not need to go to hospital.

The offender is in his early 20s, slim and between 5ft 10ins and 6ft tall. He was dressed in black, including a black woolly hat, and had a black and white scarf across his face.

Detective Inspector Jon Marsden of Bromsgrove CID said: “This was a frightening ordeal for the pensioners involved and it is important we trace the offender.

“Someone, somewhere will know or suspect who is responsible and hopefully the reward now being offered will provide an added incentive for them to do the right thing and come forward with a name. “

Anyone with information can contact Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555 111 or by using the independent charity’s secure online form at www.crimestoppers-uk.org.
