STAFF at the Shirley branch of A–Plan Insurance joined in the firm’s celebration of its 50th birthday last week.
Local branch manager Alex Webb said: “Strong local demand proves that our High Street presence remains as valued today by our clients as it was in 1963 – we’re the antidote to call centres and the internet where it is really impossible to get advice.
“If people have any insurance requirements, related questions or need to make a claim then they can speak directly to us and we’ll be happy to help.”
The prospect of being kept ‘on hold’ or going ‘online’ was unheard of in 1963 and although A-Plan has adapted over the decades to clients’ needs, the ethos of speaking to people remains and is as appreciated today as it has always been.
Carl Shuker, chief executive of A-Plan Insurance said: “A-Plan’s 50th birthday is a celebration for all 70 of our branches but it’s also testament to local people placing as much value on personal service today as they did 50 years ago.”
A-Plan has already opened two new branches in 2013, another is confirmed for the Spring and there are still further new branch plans in the pipeline representing employment opportunities for more people.
