A big help

I feel compelled to write in response to a former Shirley councillor slamming Sainsbury’s for trying to enforce their policy on child and parent parking bays.

I would disagree that Sainsbury’s are trying to make the law, but would say they are at the very least listening to their customers, and making the car park safer for mothers with young children.

I have two young children (aged two and four) who both need my help to cross the car park and get in and out of the car safely.

My four year old is too heavy to sit in the trolley with my two year old, and so I have to let him walk next to me. It is very difficult with a heavy trolley and two young children to negotiate the big car park.

Parent and child bays are there to help mums and dads with young children and to keep them safe, not because they are lazy, which is the only reason I can think that other people would want to use them.
