ON July 24 the staff of Grosvenor buses, who have been servicing the S4 route for the best part of the last two years, will run the last buses on that route.
I cannot let that pass, without expressing the sincere gratitude and satisfaction that the passengers who live in the Light Hall School area feel towards the firm for taking on the route when the powers that be had decided it was no longer viable and offered us a much reduced alternative.
To the owners of Grosvenor we salute you and thank you.
But this letter is primarily to say a huge thank you to all the men who have been the drivers on this route; their friendliness and many kindnesses to the passengers, especially the elderly and frail are legendary and remarked on by all.
I know these thoughts are not mine alone, but as the last chairman of our now defunct community group who fought for a better service over the years, I know I speak for all bus passengers on this route.
We are now promised another service, with better buses and just hope they measure up to Grosvenors. To all those at Grosvenor past and present, we thank you and wish you all well in the future.

Happy to meet
THERE seems to be clubs for people who have severe mental or physical problems. However, if you are affected by these conditions slightly, there doesn’t appear to be any meeting places. Should you feel these problems you suffer in a minor capacity please phone 01564 775210.
