A healthy beginning

A STATE-of-the-art health centre has welcomed more than 1,200 patients since it opened its doors last month.

A STATE-of-the-art health centre has welcomed more than 1,200 patients since it opened its doors last month.

The clinic, which was set up on the Solihull Hospital site, is the first of its kind in the borough – open seven days a week and offering a range of treatments under the same roof.

Figures from Solihull NHS Care Trust show that an average of more than 30 patients a day have dropped in at the centre, which opened lastd month.

A spokeswoman for the trust said: “Feedback has been consistently positive from both residents and those working in or visiting Solihull.

“A significant number of patients have been treated for minor injuries and ailments that would have otherwise put pressure on the hospital’s accident and emergency department.”

When the centre opened last month, senior partner Dr Sunil Kotecha said the facilities would be more convenient for people working in the town centre and those who worked during the day.

Consultations, small operations and cancer screenings are among the services offered.
