RE: letters, Harry Scharf, J Greaves, P Derridge. (Solihull News). Harry it’s great to hear from you again, you can put yourself first, you have answered your own letter, don’t worry about 13 it’s just superstitious nonsense, the last line of your letter you have written I believe, say it Harry accept the joy and love of our Lord. Share your life with Christ [no worries mate.]
Tell me J Greaves have you ever been to a zoo? Were all the animals eating each other? No. I wonder why? Noah’s ark had three decks, plenty of room for animals and Noah’ s family. God told Noah to take food enough for his family and the animals as in the main most animals only kill for food, not like us who kill for no reason.
Now P Derridge you have a talent for stating the obvious - people who hide behind e-mails always do. I read the Bible I am a creationist, I can prove what I say, the theory of evolution is just what is - a theory never been proved.

THE Queen wants a rise, well so do I, but anything I get will be tied to the rate of inflation, and even then it will be only a percentage of that, so tough Ma’am, you’ll have to do what the rest do, and cut back, you could have a smaller car for a start, and send the kids out to work, why should they be sat at home playing with their helicopters and things when the rest of us have to work,
I HAVE just noticed that from May 31, 2010 Solihull Council expect our black wheelie bins to be closed shut on collection day.
If the bin lid does not close by say one inch will it not be emptied? If it will, could you please confirm how big the gap has to be to prevent it being emptied.
ONCE again the football World Cup approaches; it hardly seems four years since I wasted drinking time trying - in vain - to find a pub not screening the ‘footy’ nonsense.
It is surely not too late for an enterprising local licensee to offer us football-haters an alternative.
What about screening Wagner operas, interspersed with music by Mahler, Strauss and Elgar? I would admit the possibility of a very slight drop in takings, but would personally make big efforts to make up for this.
Wagner and the best Real Ale; that sounds like Heaven, and think what it would do for our culture footprint. So, come on you Knowle publicans.

CONGRATULATIONS to the Meriden residents for standing their ground on the inappropriate use of land by the travellers, who flout the law.
Why should we apply for planning permission for a porch or sun lounge; after all, like the travellers, it is our land and we have paid for it.

I AM concerned at the fact that we seem to be sleep walking to the introduction of the High Speed rail link.
This rail line will cut right through the borough and bring with it noise, disruption, incredible cost at a time when we can’t afford it, and inevitably, ribbon development in its wake.
I would like to know if our new council supports this initiative and if they do how they envisage the people of Solihull living with its implications.
