I WAS genuinely surprised to read Mr John Bramham’s heated response to my concern that a convicted sexual offender continues to sit on Solihull Council (Letters).
Mr Bramham’s argument that “any red blooded man” would act as Councillor Hillas did and press his affections upon a 16 year-old girl nearly 30 years his junior is the same one which used to lead to rape victims being accused of leading their attackers on by wearing short skirts or revealing tops.
How would Mr Bramham feel if he had a school-age daughter and she was found fending off a middle-aged man trying to take advantage of her? A neighbour tells me Mr Bramham used to be a councillor himself, so perhaps he thinks the normal rules of society do not apply to him and his friends?
