"Abusive" son bound over to keep the peace

A CHELMSLEY Wood man has been bound over to keep the peace after allegedly becoming abusive to his own father.

A CHELMSLEY Wood man has been bound over to keep the peace after allegedly becoming abusive to his own father.

John Abbotts, of Camplea Croft, was arrested on February 13 from his dad Ernest’s address after police received reports of a “disturbance”.

Malcolm Stoddart, prosecuting, said the 49-year-old had been released from hospital and went to visit his father. But when asked to leave, Abbotts had become abusive and when officers attended, at 8.35pm, they found him in such an agitated state they needed to arrest him to avoid a further breach of the peace.

When asked by magistrates if he wanted to explain his behaviour, Abbotts simply told the court, “no.”

He was bound over to keep the peace for six months to the value of £100.
