Comedienne Lizzie Wiggins, often described as the female Les Dawson, is a regular on BBC Radio WM and has appeared in pantomime alongside Lily Savage and on TV in Malcolm Stent’s Go Play Up Your Own End.
The stand-up will be entertaining crowds in Acocks Green from 4pm on Saturday November 17, before doing the official countdown to switch on the village lights when the sun goes down.
BID Manager Sandy Gianni said “We are delighted that Lizzie is joining us.
“We have so much going on, it’s going to be fantastic.”
The day begins at 10am and the fun will continue through the day with a Santa’s grotto, rides and entertainment from resident DJ Ant Plant, the Madden school of Irish Dancers, Elvis and Frank Sinatra tribute acts and kids entertainer Mad Dominic.
Locals are also invited to showcase their creativity by taking up a stall at the Arts and Crafts market with everything on offer made or grown by local residents.
Sandy added: “Everyone really needs to come down and have some fun with us. Santa will be giving out free pressies for the children in his grotto, we will have our usual glitter tattoos, candy floss, music, a fashion show and kids rides.
“And in addition to the markets, we have a terrific array of quality independent shops to get all your Christmas gifts in one place on the day.”
