AN Acocks Green man who set fire to the seat of a taxi and attacked a police officer in Solihull town centre has escaped a spell in prison.

AN Acocks Green man who set fire to the seat of a taxi and attacked a police officer in Solihull town centre has escaped a spell in prison.

Joseph James Enright, of Oakhurst Road, was handed a four month jail term, suspended for 18 months, at Solihull Magistrates Court on Monday.

The 33-year-old pleaded guilty to arson, assaulting a police officer and not paying his taxi fare on February 11.
