Act now to avoid problem of hairloss

STUDIES have shown that, for many men, early hairloss can trigger a significant loss of confidence and self-perception of attractiveness, sometimes leading to depression.

STUDIES have shown that, for many men, early hairloss can trigger a significant loss of confidence and self-perception of attractiveness, sometimes leading to depression. However, help is on hand, thanks to the ever-popular hair retention programme at Boots, Mell Square.

Launched in 2006, the comprehensive, pharmacist-led programme has been specifically designed for men, based on clinically proven results. The service includes a detailed consultation by a trained Boots pharmacist and hair-retention medicine, followed by reviews to monitor progress and discounts on Boots haircare products. It costs £90 for three months – about £1 a day.

Mina Hunjan, head pharmacist at Boots in Mell Square comments: “Premature hair loss can have a massively detrimental effect on a man’s confidence. However, what many don’t realise is that there is hope but the key is to act quickly. A recent study showed nine out of 10 men with male-pattern baldness who took the treatment kept their hair, while untreated men continued to lose theirs.

“We have already received an extraordinary response to the programme, with many men seeing hair growth which, in many cases, has proven life-changing. We would encourage anybody suffering from this problem to pop in store for a chat.”
