A NEW Solihull-based security firm is warning homeowners not to wait until it’s too late before installing an alarm.
Jack Fairbotham, who set up Simple Security in Olton, said that almost all of his alarm installations only came following a burglary.
“It’s a shame it takes such a drastic event for people to take their home safety seriously,” he said.
“As part of the job, I go to a lot of houses after a burglary and the majority of people say their house doesn’t feel like a home once the burglar’s been in.
“Once the alarm is fitted, it starts to give that piece of mind and homely feeling. It’s giving them back what the burglar has taken from them.”
The 22-year-old set up Simple Security three months ago after being made redundant from several previous security positions.
“I was working for a company in Leicester but when the recession kicked in I was made redundant,” he said.
“I managed to find another job but I was made redundant again a few months later because of cuts backs.
“At the same time, I noticed that burglary was getting quite big as the recession was making more people turned to crime.
“I wanted to do my bit to stop crime in my home town but I was also fed up of being made redundant. This way, provided I do a good job and work hard, I should get to keep my job.”
Simple Security provide full domestic burglar alarm installations, upgrades and repair to current systems as well as a full 24/7 call out service.
