AWARD-winning chorister Alice Halstead will be singing at the Solihull Choral Society’s concert tomorrow evening.
The Solihull teenager – who recently performed on Songs of Praise – will be joining members at Shirley Methodist Church. Audiences can enjoy a performance of Mr Lear, a tuneful tribute to the poet Edward Lear.
The concert will also see the choristers perform the winning piece of music from the society’s recent contest. Composers had been asked to come up with an original piece and the winner was created by James Maddocks, a Birmingham Conservatoire student.
“I enjoy composing and I’m really looking forward to hearing what the members make of it,” he said. “The piece is based on a poem by George Byron and is very romantic.”
