THIS is the first picture of the escaped parrot that’s causing a flap in Elmdon.
Last week we reported that the brightly-coloured macaw was waking up residents with its noisy squawking – which starts at 5am. But others have welcomed the new arrival, and said that the feathered fugitive has brightened up the area.
Dennis Robinson said that the bird was a regular sight at the allotments, in Lyndon Road, and took a quick photo when it got trapped in one of the fruit cages.
“It’s been around for about five-weeks, and we’ve enjoyed seeing something a bit of exotic,” he said.
“I’ve often seen it flying with the pigeons – maybe it thinks it’s one of them.”
The gardener said that he had let the bird free again because it was flapping against the netting, and he was worried it would hurt itself.
