Andrew Binns, aged 49, is one of eight British officials providing support to the NFL referee as American Football comes to Wembley Stadium.

Mr Binns, who works for Premia Solutions in Warwick, could feature in a Sky documentary about the British officials, shown during the TV channel’s Superbowl coverage, as the broadcaster trys to develop the game in the UK.

“My role is yet to be finalised but I will probably be on the sideline running the ‘chains’, an important part of the game that cannot happen without it,” said the married father of three.

“The weekend is not just about the game but very much about mixing and staying with the teams in London and helping develop the game in the UK.

“I’m one of only two officials in the West Midlands, the other is in Hall Green I think. We are always looking for new officials across the region.”

Andrew is a member of the The British American Football Referee’s Association.
