Armed robber in cash point threat

SOLIHULL Police are searching for an armed robber who threatened a passer-by with a knife before forcing his victim to withdraw money from a town centre cash point.

SOLIHULL Police are searching for an armed robber who threatened a passer-by with a knife before forcing his victim to withdraw money from a town centre cash point.

The incident took place around 3pm on June 4 when the victim was confronted by the man while walking along Lode Lane.

After demanding money, the man walked his victim to a hole-in-the-wall on Hermitage Road, where he was robbed of £30.

Detective Constable Dave Mason from Solihull Police claimed: “It’s an intriguing incident, especially as the alleged offender only demanded a relatively small sum of money once they’d reached the cash point.

“There’s a chance he may have experienced some sort of remorse after being told by the victim that his father had recently passed away.”

The offender is described as a white male, about 20 years of age, just over six feet in height with a slim build.

He had light brown hair and was wearing a beige coloured hat, aviator-style red tinted sunglasses with metal rims, a red and white checked long sleeve shirt and blue jeans.

Anyone who has information about this man should call DC Mason at Solihull Police on 0345 113 5000 Extn: 7921 6739.
