ARMED Forces personnel are being trained in how to operate petrol lorries as fears continue to grow over a possible strike by fuel tanker drivers.

The men, in combat fatigues, were spotted delivering fuel to the Shell garage in Kenilworth Road, Balsall Common last Thursday.

A Ministry of Defence spokesman refused to give details about the number of people involved in the drills.

But he confirmed that the training exercises were taking place in the event there is industrial action.
