A BLAZE which broke out at the former cattle market site in Henley-in-Arden is thought to have been started deliberately.
Fire crews raced to the empty buildings in Warwick Road on Monday (June 6) just after 6pm to tackle the fire.
Nine appliances from Henley, Stratford, Studley, Leamington and Alcester tackled the blaze while nearby roads were closed .
Some residents were advised to stay indoors and keep their windows and doors closed.
Police were also called to the scene.
The site is set to be demolished to make way for a development of four two-storey apartments, three flats and 33 homes.
More than 100 residents had written to Stratford Council expressing concerns about the scale and style of the development and potential traffic problems and many more had signed a petition against the plans.
