The awards just keep on coming for newborn baby photographer Victoria Doyle – and this time the talented 35-year-old has scooped our very own Solihull News Business Person of the Month award.
Victoria, who runs Blue Bean Photography from her studio in Meriden, has already racked up 17 awards for her work this year alone but said she is ‘honoured’ to be recognised locally for her talents in the Solihull News Business awards, in partnership with the Forest of Arden Marriott Hotel.
Her business has gone from strength to strength in recent years, even getting to the point where she started to accept bookings after the customers’ 12-week scan.
“I feel very honoured to have been chosen for this award and it is great to be recognised in my local area,” said Victoria.
“It is quite a big thing for a business like mine to be put forward for an award like this, considering there is only me running the business. Awards like this really give hope to small businesses.”
Victoria trained in commercial photography before deciding the specialise in newborn photography.
She is also trained to the Baby and Newborn Photography Association standards.
She has recently won a raft of award with organisations including The Guild and the Societies SWPP (Society of Wedding and Portrait Photographers).
While Victoria makes her work look effortless, she told us it is a lot harder than it looks.
“Sometimes the babies will be asleep from the moment they come into the studio until they leave but with others it can be more difficult. If you could see the amount of shots I have to discard, you would see it’s not an easy task.
“Then there is the obvious responsibility of handling someone else’s newborn babies, who are only a couple of weeks old,” Victoria added.
