Liz Allister founded Utopia Resourcing in Marston Green last year, bringing with her a decade of human resources and development experience.
The talent resourcing agency has already found successful placements and career coaching to numerous high flying candidates but it was three of her own work experience graduates that Liz choose to become Spotlight speakers at last year’s NEC Skills Show.
Charlotte Ball, aged 22, now working at Barques design and PR agency in Birmingham, said: “Whilst academia has been an important aspect in my employability journey so far, work experience has been essential in picking up transferable skills along the way.
“The World Skills Show is a fantastic event that celebrates the opportunities available to young people in the UK. Presenting at the Skills Show as a Spotlight speaker was, therefore a huge honour and privilege.”
Mike Clarke, now a supply only project manager at Hollywood Monster Ltd, and Warwick University student, Maria Fafouti, also gave speeches on the importance of work experience and employability skills.
