A SPECIAL awards ceremony saw four hard -working staff from across the borough rewarded for their stellar efforts in business.

The top employees were nominated by their employers at the annual Solihull Chamber of Commerce Employee Awards which give companies the opportunity to recognise the work of their staff.

In total over 80 guests attended the event at the Nailcote Hall Hotel in Berkswell.

The award for outstanding employee went to Charli Millions, office administrator for Grimes Furnishings.

In the three other categories, Heidi Perrin, PA at ESOS, took the secretary/PA award.

In the career development category the winner was Mark Hughes, project manager at PSL.

And finally the customer care title went to Robin Kent, sales merchandiser at Worldwide Magazined.

Jane Jackson, director of Solihull Chamber, said: "The awards have become a popular way for employers to honour the hard work and initiative of their employees.

"We had more nominations this year than ever which made the task of the judges extremely difficult".

Birmingham International Airport sponsored the main event with categories sponsored by Flybe, Drivers' Dream Days, Thomas International and Reed Employment Solihull.
