STRAIGHT from the horse’s mouth – that’s the news from Solihull Multiple Sclerosis Society who are keen for local people to support the charity at an upcoming Horse Race Night.
The event, which also includes an American supper, is on Saturday June 27 at the Shirley Centre, Stratford Road with six horses to back in each of the eight filmed races, shown on an indoor screen. The event is from 8pm to 11pm,
MS Solihull fundraiser Jackie Dawkes said: “This will be a brilliant night.
“I have sold 63 tickets already: We’d like to have 100 people there, who will have a great time supporting a great cause, MS respite care.
“I have already had lots of requests and tickets, which cost £3, are going fast. There is a bar and we are having an American Supper. People can also bid on the night in the last auction race, and win lots more cash.
“There will also be a stand-up bingo session halfway through, to keep the fun going.
“If everyone does their bit, we can provide more local people with respite care, physiotherapy, and other therapies and equipment which will make a wonderful difference to people with MS.”
Celia Richards, chair of MS Solihull added “We are reaching out to those with MS in need of support, and anyone attending this great night will also be doing them a power of good.”
MS sufferers and carers are supported by Solihull MS Society through monthly advice, awareness events and drop-in meetings at the Shirley Centre.
People are invited for a confidential chat or a ‘taster session’ of an alternative therapy.
