Bees match against Barking cancelled due to frozen pitch

BEES home fixture against Barking has been cancelled due to a frozen pitch.

BEES home fixture against Barking has been cancelled due to a frozen pitch.

The game will be re-scheduled to a date to be fixed but the decision represents a setback for the Damson Park-based side, currently sitting at the foot of English League Division One.

Bees were likely to have England Sevens winger Simon Hunt back in their ranks and Barking, second from bottom, represented an excellent opportunity to kickstart their battle to beat relegation.

The next fixture, Cambridge away, will be a different challenge, particularly for the pack, who will be up against a tough uncompromising eight.

The next home game for Bees, Tynedale on March 3, offers them another chance to secure vital points to be the drop to division 2.
