A KIND-HEARTED student from Grace Academy in Chelmsley Wood has donated a bike he was awarded at the school to help a good cause.

Twelve year old Jordan Broome from the north of the borough, was given the two-wheeled vehicle just before Christmas after gaining the most credits amongst pupils during last term for attendance, effort and academic achievement.

The Subara bike, which was presented as a gift to the academy by International Motors, one of the institution’s key business partners, is now going to be put up as a raffle prize and the youngster is hoping to reach a goal of £100 to be passed on to Cancer Research UK, a charity that the establishment supports.

Jordan, said: “I had a bike for Christmas and I wanted someone else who maybe hasn’t got a bike, to enjoy it instead.”

Bal Pierpoint, principal, said: “I was delighted to hear about Jordan’s kind and thoughtful gesture. He has worked very hard during the term and is a credit to the academy.”

Anyone wishing to buy a raffle ticket and help the fund raising effort can telephone Beccy Nettleton at Grace Academy on 0121 329 5758 for more details.
