Blooming great chance for firms

THIS year’s Solihull in Bloom competition is rapidly gathering momentum and the council is calling on local businesses to dig deep and support the campaign.

THIS year’s Solihull in Bloom competition is rapidly gathering momentum and the council is calling on local businesses to dig deep and support the campaign.

Firms are being asked to sponsor one of the 30 traffic islands around the borough. Those which stump up the money for floral displays and new trees will have their sign featured on the island.

One company to have already signed up to the scheme is RemindMeNow – a new online communications service.

Councillor Diana Holl-Allen, cabinet member for quality of life and neighbourhoods, said: “This scheme offers local businesses the chance to get involved and help the borough shine in this year’s competition. We’re pleased that people are already getting involved to help Solihull retain its reputation as a green and clean borough.”
