A LEAFY plot, designed by local schoolchildren, has won a brilliant silver-medal at Gardeners’ World Live.

A LEAFY plot, designed by local schoolchildren, has won a brilliant silver-medal at Gardeners’ World Live.

Solihull Council teamed up with pupils from Park Hall, Smith’s Wood Sports College, Archbishop Grimshaw, CTC Kingshurst Academy and Grace Academy to design the entry.

The project was completed over several months and the team were delighted to receive the award from judges.

Called Alice in Biodiversity Land - the garden took inspiration from Lewis Carroll’s famous children’s book.

The Mayor and Mayoress of Solihull, Coun Ian Courts and wife Sheila, are among the thousands of visitors to have browsed the plot.

Gardeners’ World Live continues at the NEC until Sunday, June 20.
