A bogus caller who targeted a 90-year-old dementia sufferer two months ago returned to her Castle Bromwich home weeks later to try and get back into her property.

The offender attempted to undo the security chain on front door of the victim’s home in Lanchester Way, on March 13.

The woman previously came face-to-face with the offender in February when he tried to obtain money for work supposedly carried out at the pensioner’s home and her neighbour’s property.

On March 13, the man again tried to enter the elderly lady’s house but unbeknown to him the victim’s son was at the address and confronted him as he tried to undo the security chain. A scuffle broke out and the conman ran off.

The suspect is white, aged between 27 and 35, 5ft 8ins tall of medium build with a dark complexion and a slight goatee beard.

He was scruffily dressed and wearing a hunter-style hat with the long ‘ears’ covering the sides of his face.

Anyone with information should call police on 101 or anonymously on Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111.
