Boots’ backing skin care range

SK:N has launched its own line of expert ‘cosmoceutical’ skin care products.

SK:N has launched its own line of expert ‘cosmoceutical’ skin care products.

The creams and lotions will be available in sk:n clinics and larger Boots shops from Monday.

The collection is split into five areas: cleansing and exfoliating, anti-ageing, anti-blemish, corrective and repair and protect.

Priced from £8-£29, they will form part of Boots’ dermatological range which features brands including Vichy and Avène.

The company, which has it’s headquarters in Edgbaston and a clinic in Birmingham, has been in business for more than 20 years and has 37 clinics around the UK.

David Patten, Sk:n’s category manager, said: “We are pretty much experts in treating acne. Cosmoceuticals - creams with an active ingredient that have a drug like effect - is a rapidly growing area. We see our clients on average eight to ten times and our products are designed to sit with others like Avéne or SpaceNK.

“Eighteen months ago, we looked at our product range and developments in peptides and antioxidants. Peptides work on a cellular level.

“By going directly to manufacturers and having the Boots numbers behind us, we were able to have market leading products at a good price.

“We felt we had enough expertise to do a better job.”

The clinic said it was seeing more cases of adult acne and its anti blemish range, with an exclusive peptide, is used to control flare-ups and spots.
