DISCOVER the secret to the perfect cupcake at the brand new Boutique Baking Companys creative workshops.
The bakerys cakes have become renowned on the vintage fair circuit for their originality and great taste since Vickie Pritchett, owner and head baker, set it up three years ago.
Now the Boutique Baking Company, have opened a shabby-chic bakery studio in Solihull Lane, Shirley to showcase their creative cakes and share their tricks of the trade in a variety of workshops.
Its really exciting, said Vickie. Weve been baking for a commercial kitchen for the last three years so its just by word of mouth weve got this far.
The bakery create cupcakes, wedding cakes, sweets and desserts for a whole range of events including their popular Pop-Up Vintage Tea Rooms and private orders delivered within a five mile radius.
But they have also gained a reputation for creating some very unusual and unique designs, including a 3D caricature of a butler and a vintage suitcase, made by guest designer Annabel de Vetten-Peterson, who also has an order for a Taj Mahal wedding cake in September.
Creativity has always been at the heart of our philosophy, added Vickie a former retail manager.
We have cakes that defy gravity, cakes in quirky shapes, sometimes it takes a second to realise that its a cake at all.
We work closely with clients to develop bespoke, distinctive and delicious creations where only the unique will do.
With creative crafts and baking seeing a massive revival over the last few years, Boutique Baking Company has also launched a range of workshops in baking, decorating, paper crafting, floristry, millinery, sewing and jewellery making to name but a few.
Wed love to see you, well have the kettle on ready and theres always cake, Vickie added.
