A brand new Mercedes-Benz was stolen from a Solihull showroom just minutes after being delivered.
The grey Mercedes E250 CDI saloon, worth around £35,000, was stolen from the forecourt of the Warwick Road, Olton, dealership at 9am on Wednesday 21 September.
It’s understood the thief sped away from the garage along Westbourne Road but, as the car’s petrol tank was almost empty, it would not have travelled far before needing to refuel.
The vehicle had also not been fitted with registration plates.
Investigating Officer, PC Laura Guy, said: “We understand a female witness visited the garage soon after to discuss the manner in which the vehicle sped off down Westbourne Road.
“We’re really keen to speak to this woman, or anyone who may have seen a man acting suspiciously outside the showroom leading up to the incident or saw the vehicle soon after it was taken, either on the road or at a nearby petrol station.”
The offender is said to be male, approximately 6ft tall and medium build. He was wearing a fluorescent jacket.
