DAVID Cameron’s decision to break his ‘cast iron’ EU election promise to hold a referendum on the Lisbon Treaty, marks a new low in British politics.
Cast iron Cameron is claiming that he will repatriate control from Brussels, but under the Masstricht Treaty (signed by John Major), power taken by the EU is never given back. It is called acquis communautaire.
He is even more disingenuous promising a referendum on any new Treaty. He knows the Lisbon Treaty is ‘self amending’, so the EU does not need another one!
My father, who was a World War II pilot and voted Conservative all his life, would not recognise the Party today.
Clearly, we cannot trust the Lib/Lab/Cons, but out of the ashes is a beacon of hope in UKIP. It really is that simple, and as a bonus, we have nothing to lose!

HOW CAN we learn to trust again. When I moved to this area, I had to buy a new washing machine and a new television, as we have two of the best retailers to hand in Shirley, that wasn’t a problem, so off I went to buy my new appliances.
Over the years I have had these appliances I have renewed the insurance cover on a regular basis.
As it is due at the end of the month I thought nothing of it when they contacted me to renew my policies, so I reached for my debit card and began to talk to a lady on the other end of the phone.
She then told me that she didn’t want my debit card she wanted my sort code and account number when I objected, she told me that they couldn’t help me. So I called customer services and they made the transaction without any fuss, Not? they then told me there would be a £5 charge paying by debit card.
Is the world of finance run on lies, deceit, and deception? I think so, the Bible says the world will be full of liars. [ Revelation 21 v 8] says and all liars shall have their part in the lake that burns with fire and brimstone. [Ephesians 5 v 6] tells us, let no one deceive you with empty words because the wrath of God comes on the sons of disobedience.

RE: FAT sandwich (Solihull News). I am astonished that you have included such a defamatory article in your paper. The article states that Sophie found a caterpillar in her sandwich which she claims to have purchased from the Fat Sandwich Company. This obviously came from the salad, or was put there by your reporter.
I feel you are clutching at straws, and in the process attempting to jeopardise a small business in our local area, which in our current economic time as this, you should be supporting. I use this sandwich shop and will continue to do so.
Appalled reader, Chris
I WRITE to complain over the article on an insect found in a sandwich from the Fat Sandwich Company.
I use that shop every day and am disgusted that you chose to print a story of such irrelevance. Have your reporters got nothing better to do than try to destroy local businesses in a recession?
If a member of the public had contacted you with this story it would not have been printed.

IN reply to Sharon Roche letter ‘Not happy with her club and Tudor Grange swimming pool’, may I suggest she gets in touch with Richard Lockstone at the Velocity Health and Fitness Centre situated in the new Village Hotel, the Green Business Park, Shirley on 08449 800118 and ask for a free tour of the facillities.
My husband and I joined the first week the club opened, the standards and cleanliness are excellent and all the staff are very friendly and helpful.
