A bumper sum for cracking cancer

DEDICATED fund raisers from the Solihull Cancer Research UK are celebrating this week after reaching £2.5million in turnover for the charity.

DEDICATED fund raisers from the Solihull Cancer Research UK are celebrating this week after reaching £2.5million in turnover for the charity.

Store volunteers were joined by scores of kind-hearted customers to mark the fantastic achievement.

The party saw staff and volunteers giving out bucks fizz, nibbles, and party cake to their dedicated customers to thank them for the support.

Judy Parkins, Solihull shop manager, said: “We are delighted that so many volunteers and supporters of the shop in Solihull came to celebrate with us.

“In the current economic climate, it is wonderful to know that we still have the support of local people and we wanted to hold this party to say thank you and to share our success with everyone.”

Despite the Solihull shop’s success, the store is actually desperate for more stock to meet the demand of its faithful customers.

“If you want to help and have any good quality clothes, accessories or bric-a-brac you no longer use, then please drop it into the shop – we would love to see you,” added Judy.

For more information about opening times, donating stock or volunteering at the Cancer Research UK store in Solihull, please contact Judy on 0121 704 1557.
