CHARITY Trustees Investors Association launched their first Breakfast Symposium last week to provide advice and support to charities.

The symposium, held at Groundwork UK’s Birmingham offices, featured speakers from charities, financial institutions and solicitors, to help voluntary organisations learn how to stretch the pennies with wise investments.

It was the first in a series of upcoming events around the issues of charity investments, organised by the association, made up of an independent group of professionals with an interest in promoting investment in the third sector.

Chair Simon Williams said: “Investment strategies play a major role in providing the income that enables many charities to deliver their activities. These planned events will be aimed at helping trustees and finance directors manage their responsibilities.”
