WORRIED walkers are lobbying for a safe route on a stretch of road between Arbour Tree Lane and the Black Boy Inn, Knowle.

WORRIED walkers are lobbying for a safe route on a stretch of road between Arbour Tree Lane and the Black Boy Inn, Knowle.

Ramblers have raised concerns with Balsall Parish Council over the lack of provision for pedestrians along a mile-stretch of country lanes.

Parish councillor Lionel King, of Chadwick End, said: “On a Sunday morning you might see two to three dozen ramblers out walking in that area. It’s actually very dangerous because you’ve got cars going down there at considerable speed.

“A couple of walkers recently came to me and asked if there was something that could be done to make things easier for them.”

Mr King said that the parish council would raise the concerns with Solihull Council and see if any measures could be put in place.
