I RECENTLY started writing Strolls around Solihull – a weekly feature about the borough’s green spaces.
And it’s partly because we take such pride in our parks and public footpaths, that we tend to notice when the problems start.
Recently some people have complained about feeling threatened when they’re walking through Malvern Park – as leafy and spacious place as you could find.
But it’s certainly nothing new, we often receive letters from people worried about littering, vandalism, or other anti-social behaviour in parkland.
Now it’s obvious that the majority of people – young and old – treat these spaces with the respect they deserve.
But some do not, and that obviously affects everyone else.
So, it’s down to the public to keep the relevant people – the park ranger team, police, and councillors, aware of any issues that arise.
After all, these places are designed to be enjoyed.
We can’t let a small minority spoil that.
