CHARGES at one of the borough’s busiest car parks - Monkspath Hall Road - are set to rise from the beginning of next month.
The increases comes into force on April 1, making parking for up to 6 hours rise to £3.20. The annual charge will go up from £700 to £800.
This site is the biggest and cheapest long stay-car park available to members of the public who work and shop in the town centre.
Councillor Ted Richards, cabinet member for transport and highways, said: “Car parking charges in Solihull are cheaper than those in our neighbouring authorities and will continue to be so after these increases.
“We think these new prices are fair and will ensure people can still afford to park, shop and enjoy leisure facilities in Solihull.”
He added the council had no plans to change the charges at the other car parks in Solihull town centre this year.
