A RECRUITMENT fair for the growing care sector is to be held next Wednesday in Birmingham.
More than 30 employers including BUPA, Age Concern, Claimar Care, Servacare, Nationwide Service, Solihull Care Trust and the NHS have teamed up with Jobcentre Plus and Pertemps for the event at the Horton Suite, Burlington Hotel, Burlington Arcade, off New Street in the city centre.
Solihull-based Pertemps delivers a range of government-funded Welfare to Work initiatives across the UK, including Employment Zone, New Deal and Lone Parent mentoring, helping long-term unemployed people find sustainable employment.
It also works closely with a wide range of employers, finding suitable candidates to fill vacancies and providing training opportunities.
Maggie Jones, of Pertemps, said the event offered unemployed people a real opportunity to secure a job with good prospects in the thriving care sector. She urged people to come along and have a coffee and an informal chat with employers.
“The fair offers unemployed people a wonderful opportunity to find out more about the many career opportunities that the care sector offers,”she said.
“Despite the tough economic climate the care sector is thriving and there are many job opportunities available.
* The fair will run from 10am to 2.30pm on Wednesday, February 4. To find out more call 0800 1971402.
