SUNSHINE and music were enjoyed by those who turned out for this year’s Shirley Carnival.
Taking place in Shirley Park, this year’s event raised around £4000 for Solihull-based charity Troop Aid.
Shirley Pipe Band got things underway, marching from the Stratford Road into the parkland.
The entertainment continued with performances from the Solihull Music Service Samba Band and Clive’s School of Rock.
Lion Phil Rippington, carnival chairman, said: “This year was something new and it certainly went down well with the crowds.”
