A cat trapper and fosterers are among the voluntary roles that the South Birmingham Cat Protection League is urgently looking to fill.
The charity, which covers areas including Solihull, Knowle and Dorridge, keeps check of the feral population and finds new homes for pets.
Last year, the branch rehomed around 90 felines, but desperately needs more help to keep up with the growing number of homeless animals.
“We’ve got only five fosterers at the minute,” said welfare officer Kelly Page, from Acocks Green. “We can only take up to nine animals at a time, when last year we had a waiting list of over 100 needing new homes. And we’d also welcome a trapper, who catches the stray cats so we can neuter them.”
