A SHIRLEY travel agent recently won a cookery class with TV chef James Martin.
Adele Keeling won a national competition with Midlands Co-operative Travel where she works as a sales consultant at the Stratford Road branch.
She was one of 12 employees out of the 9,000 to win a chance to cook with the popular face of BBC’s Saturday Kitchen, after impressing judges in customer service and by hitting targets.
Adele, who cooked with James on Tuesday May 8, said: “I love cooking so getting to spend the day in the kitchen with him was brilliant. He gave us some great tips which I’ll definitely be trying at home, and was just a lovely, down-to-earth man.”
The competition marked the launch of James’ new range of hearty British in-flight meals which will be served on all Thomas Cook Airlines and hit the runway earlier this month.
James said his top tip for Adele and other budding chefs was to use the best ingredients: “Rely on your ingredients and understand what’s in season to eat healthily.”
