A FORDBRIDGE-based charity has received a £3000 grant from Birmingham Airport.

A FORDBRIDGE-based charity has received a £3000 grant from Birmingham Airport.

The cash has been awarded to Community Transport, who run a fleet of vehicles for the whole community to use.

David Peplow, the charity’s general manager, said: “This grant from Birmingham Airport’s community trust fund has helped us purchase a new minibus, which is helping us reach even more people throughout the borough.

“We are a charitable organisation and are always thankful to those who make pledges to support the work we are doing, and the benefit of this award will be felt far and wide out in the local community.”

The fund was set up ten years ago to help local causes.

So far over 450 projects have benefited from grants totalling more than £950,000.

Local groups are eligible to apply for a grant of up to £3000 on a twice yearly basis.
