THREE ladies – with a combined age of over 300 – will be celebrating their birthdays this month.
Minnie Eyres, the youngest of the trio, was 100 on Wednesday. The pensioner is a popular resident at Willow Grange Care Home and a party was held in her honour.
Minnie, who has lived in the Birmingham area all her life, moved to the Olton home six years ago.
Manager Nikki Pudney said: “Staff, residents and Minnie’s family are due to come together to celebrate her landmark birthday with an extra special party at the home.”
And two of the centenarian’s fellow residents are also celebrating special birthdays over the next few months. Nellie Peers will be 103 on June 14 and Emily Long will be 102 on June 23.
“It is wonderful we have so many residents celebrating more than 100 years this month – there must be something in the water at Willow Grange,” said Nikki.
Fewer than 200 British people in every million live to see their 100th birthday.
