A SNAPPY thief with a string of previous convictions has appeared in court after he made off with over £200 worth of goods from a camera shop.
Raymond Gillard, 35, of Brick Hill Drive, pleaded guilty to theft at Solihull Magistrates Court on Monday. He was caught stealing 10 memory cards from Max Spielman, Chelmsley Wood shopping centre, on February 18.
Gillard was described in court as having an ‘unenviable’ record, with 37 previous convictions for dishonesty.
In his defence, magistrates were told that although Gillard had a drug problem in the past, he has ‘been trying very hard’ and is making progress.
He was handed a 12 month supervision order and told to pay £85.
