Children go daft and raise money

Solihull SUSTAiN’s local fundraising is gathering more and more supporters, and age is no barrier as the children of Blythe Valley Park’s Busy Bees nursery showed this week.

The children and playleaders took advantage of a Daft Dress Fundraising Day to enjoy themselves and wear anything they liked including a cunning Santa outfit, just to remind all parents that Christmas is on the way.

The local fundraising events were started with a sponsored three legged walk by the SUSTAiN team, and events are growing in fun, style and momentum with quiz nights at the Ramada Hotel, an upcoming bowling evening and a skydive by Netstationers of Shirley, and lots more ideas coming in to the SUSTAiN office.

A 12 mile sponsored walk starting at Babbs Mill and winding its way across the borough to Knowle, is on next Sunday, October 11.

There are still places available and entry forms can be found at www.solihull-sustain.org.uk.

All money raised will go to help local voluntary organisations. And if you can’t make the walk, there are still plenty of on-going events.

SUSTAiN is the umbrella organisation that looks after Solihull’s voluntary sector.
