CHRISTMAS shoppers can really get into the festive spirit on Saturday (December 13) as church choirs from across Birmingham take part in the sixth annual Carols in the City.
Carols will echo around the spectacular Frankfurt Christmas Market in Victoria Square from 4.30pm as singers from a variety of churches join forces.
Organised by Birmingham Churches and supported by Birmingham City Council, Carols in the City brings together people from a variety of churches and people from all of Birmingham’s communities are invited to join in the fun.
Lord Mayor of Birmingham, Coun Chauhdry Rashid said: “I am delighted to be celebrating Christmas at the ‘Carols in the City’ event at the Frankfurt Market in the heart of City. I hope that as people sing carols, have their presents wrapped, or just listen; they will be inspired by the true meaning of Christmas.”
Bishop David Urquhart, Bishop of Birmingham, said: “Carols in the City is a wonderful Christmas event which reminds us all that we are celebrating the birth of a very special baby Jesus.”
