A CITY church which has attracted members from across Solihull has launched a major recruitment drive to revive its popular choir.

St Alban and St Patrick’s Church in Birmingham is looking to take on 18 singers, including nine sopranos, two altos, four tenors and three basses to join the current members of the choir.

Peter Boswell, assistant choirmaster, was previously director of music at the Capella Choir of Solihull.

He said: “We want to revive the musical tradition at St Albans and bring it back to the level that it was in the 1960s.”

Members of the choir will be asked to commit themselves regularly to a one and a half hour Friday evening rehearsal, Solemn Mass on Sunday mornings between 10 and 11am and the occasional High Mass on weekday evenings or Saturdays.

Those interested are asked to call Peter on 01564 777003 or e-mail peter.boswelllaw@virginmedia.com
