Clothes swap night aims to raise cash

BEAT the credit crunch and stock up on a whole new wardrobe with the forthcoming NCT Solihull & South Birmingham branch clothes swap event.

BEAT the credit crunch and stock up on a whole new wardrobe with the forthcoming NCT Solihull & South Birmingham branch clothes swap event.

Swappers should bring at least one item of good quality clothing, clean, ironed and on a hanger ready to exchange for another item.

There will also be a raffle, beautician, jewellery stall and representative from The Pampered Chef as well as a bar and free car parking.

Tamara Bavin, NCT branch chair said: “We are delighted to be holding our first clothes swap event. Mums can bring as many items of clean, laundered clothes as they like and swap each item for something else that catches their eye. The bar will be open and we plan to hold a raffle; and we really want it to be a fun and social night out as much as anything else.

“We’ve not held an event like this before so really hope that local ladies will come along for a fun night and to support us. It is also a great way for mums to get together. We are also hoping to raise over £200 in funds for NCT charity to support its work with parents.”

Tickets are available from Catherine Chattaway at catherinealbrow@hotmail.com or on 0121 243 8731.

The swap takes place on Friday October 23 in the Greenleigh Room, at the Land Rover Social Club, Rowood Drive (Off Lode Lane), from 7.30pm to 9.30pm. Admission is £3.
