CANCER Breast Friends received a boost to their funds last week when they were presented with a cheque for £7,500 by the lady members of Olton Golf Club who had chosen it as their 2009 charity having had two members diagnosed with breast cancer the previous year.

Following various fundraising events throughout the year, including a Bridge Drive and a charity AM-AM golf day with a ‘pink’ theme, representatives from the charity’s committee were invited to the club to receive the cheque from the president, Cynthia Parker. Breast Friends is run by volunteers to provide help and support, both practical and emotional, to ladies from Solihull diagnosed with breast cancer.
