THE St Johns Hotel on Warwick Road enters a new era after a £500,000 refurbishment.
The Principal Hayley chain took over the former Renaissance hotel in October last year refurbishing the restaurant, bar, conference and banqueting facilities.
Hayley now own 21 hotels and venues in the UK and Europe.
The 180- bedroom hotel invited the Mayor to the official re-launch on Monday where a selection of canapés and the St Johns Cocktail were served.
The newly opened Tempus restaurant was set out in a banquet style. New chef Aiden Corrigan introduced a new menu to tickle the taste buds of the diners at the launch, adopting for a light fresh summery taste with the canapés. A new menu for Autumn and Winter is still being decided, but in the meantime the summer menu includes lighter dishes which include fish, prawns, mango salsas, water melons which are refreshing and perfect for the 'Indian Summer'.
The new Brueton suite was decorated in an 'East meets West' wedding theme whilst the Malvern Suite was set out in a 'Winter Wonderland' theme, presenting the different ways in which the hotel can work with guests to set up function rooms.
The hotel has one of the largest banqueting spaces in Central England, with the Park Suite seating 750 guests, ideal for all big occasions.
The smaller conference and banqueting rooms have also been renovated and are ideal for private parties or business meetings.
General Manager of The St Johns Hotel, Julie Hammond said: "The hotel refurbishment programme signifies our commitment to guests and conference delegates to provide them with the finest facilities and first-class service.
Ms Hammond added. The hotel originally started out as an 11 bedroom guesthouse called The St Johns and we are delighted to reintroduce The St Johns name to this lovely and well-known hotel."
